AQUA Pullman Sea Temple Resort

AQUA - Pullman Sea Temple

AQUA - Pullman Sea Temple is where Roy Weavers and Sarah Cullen interviewed Jim Wallace for the Port Douglas magazine article about the early days of Quicksilver. The finished article makes interesting reading and by coincidence our spin on Quicksilver's influence on Australian shipbuilding was included in the Port Douglas & Daintree Discovery Guide app in 2011.

Back to the AQUA Restaurant. Having not dined there previously we tried it out. It is a long way out of town and a long way from the Macrossan Street Restaurant Strip. It was not very busy. Part of the restaurant was set up for a wedding reception later in the day.  The setting is stunning and we settled in ordering two battered Spanish Mackerel $28 each, one Bruschetta $12 and a bottle of  Chardonnay $33 or $101 for lunch.

I knew that Jim was a great Fish and Chips man and i was interested as to why the magazine article interview was done at AQUA?
The fish and chips were excellent, the venue quiet, and I guess the magazine was paying. We loved it although the cumbersome Bruschetta needed some adjustments so that we could deal with it.

The Port Douglas magazine is out now and this blog was put together to promote some of the more interesting aspects of Port Douglas.

The Port Douglas & Daintree Discovery Guide app is available from the app stores.

What we particularly like is that, unlike most restaurants in Port Douglas, they have some wines under $30.  Still not bad for a good lunch - $83.20 Brought to you by: Port Douglas Budget Dining .

Restaurant Ziva - 18 - 20 Macrossan Street

Eggs Benedict Poached Eggs, Spinach, Hollandaise Sauce, English Muffin with Bacon or Smoked Salmon or Avocado - $16.50 I am sorry I didn't get all the prices when we were there on Christmas Day. We enjoyed the breakfast and put it up there with the best in Port Douglas. A little while back we did a survey of breakfast places and put Cafe Fresq at the top. Restaurant Ziva is on an equal footing with Cafe Fresq so much so we have been back.
